Tek-Gnostics Update

The Tek-Gnostics Electronic Mystery School has undertaken some significant updates to the monastery and its associated databanks. Of special interest is the addition of “The Book of Mysteries”, ancient Gnostic text fragments found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. These fragments resonate with Tek-Gnostic understanding in that their reference to end-times do not culminate in an apocalyptic holocaust, but rather a:

“Steady increase of light, [through which] darkness is made to disappear or in which iniquity dissolves and just as the smoke rising into the air eventually dissipates”

Dr. Carl Gustav Jung & UFO Phenomenon

There seems to have been increased interest in deep space, space exploration, alien encounters and especially UFO sightings among the world press in recent months. Speculation of an impending “disclosure event” by government sources has been circulating around the blogosphere. An excellent example of this speculation can be found over at Chris Knowles’ blog, the secret sun.

Of interest to us at tekgnostics are the ramifications of such investigations on humanity’s psyche. One of humanity’s great minds, Dr. Carl Gustav Jung did some revealing work on this subject toward the end of his illustrious life. The following excerpt came from…

While Jung is known mainly for his theories on the nature of the unconscious mind, he did have an interest in the paranormal. In his books 'Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Skies', Jung applies his analytical skills to the UFO phenomenon. Rather than assuming that the modern prevalence of UFO sightings are due to extraterrestrial craft, Jung reserves judgment on their origin and connects UFOs with archetypal imagery, concluding that they have become a "living myth."

"In the threatening situation of the world today, when people are beginning to see that everything is at stake, the projection-creating fantasy soars beyond the realm of earthly organizations and powers into the heavens, into interstellar space, where the rulers of human fate, the gods, once had their abode in the planets.... Even people who would never have thought that a religious problem could be a serious matter that concerned them personally are beginning to ask themselves fundamental questions. Under these circumstances it would not be at all surprising if those sections of the community who ask themselves nothing were visited by `visions,' by a widespread myth seriously believed in by some and rejected as absurd by others."
--C. G. Jung, in Flying Saucers

Jung's primary concern in Flying Saucers is not with the reality or unreality of UFOs but with their psychic aspect. Rather than speculate about their possible nature and extraterrestrial origin as alleged spacecraft, he asks what it may signify that these phenomena, whether real or imagined, are seen in such numbers just at a time when humankind is menaced as never before in history. The UFOs represent, in Jung's phrase, "a modern myth."

Love is all (you need) ~ pt 2

To begin our exploration, we have to embrace our creative potential. The journey out of emptiness is the creation of love. In order to approach love, we must start with our common context, the emerging universe in which we find ourselves. Most amazing is the realization that everything that exists in universe came from a common origin. The material of our bodies are intrinsically related because they emerged from and are caught up in a single energetic event. Our ancestry stretches back through the life forms and into the stars, back to the beginnings of the primeval fireball. Universe is a single multiform energetic unfolding of matter, mind, intelligence, and life.

Universe has unfolded to the present point. It has poured into us the creative powers necessary for its further development. The journey of the cosmos depends on those beings and elements existing now, us among them. For the unfolding of universe, our creativity is as essential as the creativity inherent in the primordial fireball.

Love begins as allurement - as attraction. Think of the entire cosmos, all one hundred billion galaxies rushing through space: At this cosmic scale, the basic dynamism of universe is the attraction each galaxy has for every other galaxy. Gravity is the word we use to point to this primary attraction, but no matter how intelligently we theorize about the consequences of this attraction, the actual attracting activity remains a mystery.

When we look at love from a cosmic perspective, we see attraction operating at every level. And everywhere, this attraction is as mysterious, as basic, as the allurement that we call gravitation. The great mystery is that we, as human beings, are interested in and attracted to anything whatsoever. Love begins there. We awake to our own unique set of attractions. So do oxygen atoms. So do protons. The proton is attracted only to certain particles. On an infinitely more complex level, the same holds true for humans: Each person discovers a field of allurements, the totality of which bears the unique stamp of that person's personality. Destiny unfolds in this great mystery.

For the first time in history, we can agree on the basic story of the galaxies, the stars, the planets, minerals, life forms, and human cultures. This story does not diminish the spiritual traditions of the classical or tribal periods of human history. Rather, the story provides the proper setting for the teaching of all traditions, showing the true magnitude of their central truths.

We have a vast new empirically, as well as spiritually grounded story of universe, one that explodes beyond any previous telling of reality, one that encompasses all peoples because it is rooted in concrete experience. Within this emerging story, each tradition will flower beyond telling in fruitful interaction with the rest, and together we can continue our journey to our fullest destiny.
